I have now been involved with BDI for over a year and my experience has been very satisfying. I am mostly focused on providing support to Carol who is wheelchair bound and relies heavily on technology to help her with her everyday life and to stay connected with friends, family, and the authorities. I visit Carol every couple of weeks to go through any questions or issues she has had since my last visit and she will email or text me if she has any issues between visits.
Carol is amazing as she manages to keep positive and upbeat even with all her issues and deteriorating health. Most of my assistance is helping Carol to find ways of completing online tasks with less need for typing or physical input. I also assist her to keep all her data synchronised between her phone, tablet, and laptop.
I also provide support for Margaret who is more tech savvy and requires less assistance. Margaret will call me when she does have issues and I will occasionally make contact to see if she needs any assistance.
I have also appreciated the assistance Amanda and Ian have given me to resolve any BDI administration and technical issues.
